Drunken tourist arrested over misbehaviour with cops

Bhubaneswar: A lady tourist was arrested by Kharvel Nagar police for misbehaving and attacking police personnel in an inebriated state near city railway station on Sunday.

The young woman even had an altercation with police and abused them too.

During interrogation by police she was found to be possessing an Aadhaar Card bearing name Duniya Khan from Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi.

The police also recovered some cash, a bottle of liquor and an expensive mobile phone from her possession.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi informed, "She had misbehaved and assaulted Kharvel Nagar police team during patrolling, in a drunken state yesterday. She had also resisted when the police attempted to control her."

The young woman is being forwarded to court today, said Bhoi adding, "While an Aadhaar card with Delhi address was found from her possession, her identity is still suspicious. She is not cooperating in the interrogation but we are trying to establish a link to trace her details with support of the Aadhaar card."
