Drunk duo manhandle student, detained by police

Bhubaneswar:  A woman, in an inebriated condition, allegedly manhandled a student and abused him following a minor accident at Rupali Square here last evening.

According to sources the lady was riding pillion on a motorcycle with her male friend, who hit a bike coming from opposite direction. Reportedly the duo flouted traffic rules. Soon after, both the woman and her friend got down to misbehave with the student and abused him using filthy language.

Angry over the incident, some students, including girls, turned up at the Sahid Nagar police station and demanded action against the drunk duo. Based on the complaint, police have kept the woman and her male friend under detention.

“Though they flouted the traffic rules and hit another bike, the woman put all the blame on the student and misbehaved with him. She also abused him. When some traffic cops tried to intervene, she also abused them,” said an eyewitness.
