Bhubaneswar: Eleven districts in Odisha have been affected due to scanty rainfall between June and September this year, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty in a high level review meeting on drought situation chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

Patnaik has instructed all district collectors to submit panchayatwari report on amount of rainfall and crop loss by October 15. He said further action will be taken after getting the report.

As per a report of the State Agriculture Department while the amount of average rainfall in Odisha is 1144.3 mm, only 1028.3 mm rainfall has been recorded till date. Less than 10.1 percent rainfall was recorded in between June and September and 11 districts are affected due to scanty rainfall.

Two blocks, Odapada and Hatadihi, are the worst affected, added the report.
