Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday decided to initiate criminal proceedings against persons who have availed multiple plots under the discretionary quota (DQ) by submitting false affidavits.

Informing the development after reviewing status of the development based on Taradutt Task Force Committee, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed for criminal proceedings against the violators under Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

The criminal proceedings will be initiated against individuals who either had availed multiple plots by false affidavits or have concealed facts during time of application.

Moreover, it has been decided to conduct a realistic survey on the allotments by preparing a matrix as per the recommendations of the Task Force within next four months.

Official sources said, of the total 790 plot allotments made by BDA under discretionary quota, vigilance had conducted an inquiry into 332 cases while 48 cases have been completed so far.
