Cuttack: The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) today recommended to the Housing and Urban Development department cancellation of the allotment of five plots.

“During investigation, a three-member committee comprising a task force officer, CDA secretary and the Estate officer found that the five allottees had managed to get the plots under discretionary quota (DQ) by submitting false affidavits and hiding information about their other landed properties,” Ramakanta Kar, Task Force officer of CDA told OTV today.

Notably, the special task force, constituted by the state government to probe the irregularities in the allotment of plots and houses under DQ, had stated in its report that 192 out of the 921 plots allotted under DQ had ben allotted under multiple allotment quota and 68 plots were allotted under multiple DQ.

Acting on the task force report, CDA had served show cause notice to all allottees and handed over the concerned files and documents to the State Vigilance for investigation.

“While some allottees have replied to the show cause notice, some are yet to reply,” Kar said, adding that the Vigilance department has registered cases against 13 allottees for fraudulently taking possession of the plots and started investigation.
