Cuttack: The High Court today granted anticipatory bail to industrialist Trailokya Mishra and his son Sabyasachi in connection with the dowry torture case lodged against them by Sabyasachi’s wife Lopamudra Mishra.

The court granted the bail on the basis of Rs 20,000 bond and bailer.

Notably, Lopamudra had filed a dowry harassment case against Trailokya, her husband Sabyasachi and mother-in-law at the Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar on June 14 this year. Lopamudra had also alleged that her husband forced her to go for wife-swapping during a trip to Port Blair. She had also filed a complaint at the Badagada police station in Bhubaneswar alleging that she has been receiving death threats on social sites like Facebook.

Trailokya and his son had moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bails on June 15. The bail applications were filed by their counsel Siddheswar Mohanty.

Sabyasachi, the Deputy Managing Director of the Nayagarh Sugar Complex Limited (NSCL), had married Lopamudra in 2006.
