Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has finalised ritual schedule today for 'Dola' festival to be celebrated in Srimandir on March 1.

The meeting of Chhattisa Nijoga chaired by SJTA chief administrator Pradeep Jena decided today that the doors of the shrine will be opened at 3 am on Dola Purnima.

The Rajadhiraja Besa ritual will be performed between 8 am and 9.30 am while the deities will proceed to the Dola Bedi (altar) between 10 am and 11 am.

After completion of all rituals on Dola Bedi, the deities will return to the temple at 9 pm on the same day.

Devotees will be allowed to have a glimpse of the deities till 1 pm.

Lord Jagannatha is placed on the Dola Bedi and is worshiped as Dola Govinda during Dola Purnima.

Meanwhile, the meeting has also fixed the rituals for 'Mendha Podi' to be held on Wednesday.

As per the schedule, the temple will be opened at 5 am in the morning and will be closed (Pahuda ritual) at 1 am in the night, Chhattisa Nijoga chief Janardana Pattjoshi informed.
