Dog eats body of infant inside Dhenkanal hospital

Dhenkanal: In a heart-rending incident, the dead body of an infant girl was seen gnawed by a stray dog inside the Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital. How the body of the infant reached the place is yet to be ascertained.

Sources suspect that the dead body was abandoned inside the hospital. While the incident has sent ripples in the locality, the local ADMO said that there have been no infant deaths at the Dhenkanal headquarters hospital in the past two days.

“The baby was not from our hospital. It is possible that someone dumped the body here which was later taken away by the dog. As per information obtained from our hospital, there were no infant deaths in the past two days” said Dhenkanal ADMO Sujatarani Mishra.
