Bhubaneswar: Expressing disappointment over the pace of police investigation, Aijaz Ahmed Kataria, the father of missing AIIMS Bhubaneswar student Suhail, said that the family is yet to get any information about their missing son.

“We are disappointed but we have not lost hope though one month has passed since Suhail's disappearance,” said Aijaz who left for his hometown Jammu and Kashmir from Bhubaneswar Railway Station today.

Aijaz further stated that the family is completely in dark about the whereabouts of Suhail and people of entire Kupawara district are praying for his safe return.

“Though authorities had informed that Suhail’s last location was traced to Kolkata, it is still not clear whether it was Suhail himself or his phone that reached there as police have not been able to find any other evidence,” he said.

Meanwhile, team of Odisha Police on Wednesday left for Gurugram in search of Suhail, who has been missing since February 9.

Official sources said, a three-member team left Bhubaneswar after a tip off about Suhail's presence in Gurgaon in New Delhi.

Refuting that his son has been abducted by Maoists, Aijaz said that senior officials of Commissionerate Police have ruled out the kidnapping theory.

Suhail, has been pursing MBBS at the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar since 2016.

Suhail had left AIIMS hostel on February 9 after informing authorities that he was going to Chandigarh with his friends to attend a wedding and would be back on February 17.

Later, the institute authorities lodged a complaint with Commissionerate Police after Suhail did not turn up at the college on February 18.
