Malkangiri: Director General of Police (DGP) RP Sharma on Thursday visited cut-off areas of Malkangiri district to review anti-Maoist operations.

Along with Border Security Force (BSF) Additional Director General (ADG) Arun Kumar and other senior police officials, Sharma visited the Jodambo camp and discussed about strategies to counter Maoist menace.

They also talked on deployment of security personnel in the naxal-hit areas, sources said.

Issues on logistics support to security personnel engaged in the Left Wing Extremism-hit areas also came  up for discussion in the meeting.

Among others, State Intelligence Director Sunil Roy, IG (Operations) RP Koche and Malkangiri SP Jagamohan Meena were present in the meeting.
