Bhubaneswar: After being pushed to the wall, it was the turn of the ruling Biju Janta Dal (BJD) led by Chief Minister and party supremo Naveen Patnaik to target BJP on several issues.

While addressing the party leaders and activists on the occasion of the death anniversary of Biju Patnaik on Monday, Naveen said that the development momentum of Odisha was on the ‘right track.’

The statements came a day after several leaders of BJP during its two-day National Executive Meet here at Bhubaneswar alleged that the ruling BJD had failed on several fronts to develop Odisha.

Though Naveen refrained in making direct attack on the BJP’s top leadership, he aptly hit back with his unique signature style.

“Odisha Government was growing with an inclusive agenda based on the vision of late Biju Patnaik,” said Naveen.

Naveen further said that, Odisha is the role model for several States as the growth rate of the state has been higher than the National average.

A considerable improvement has been achieved in terms of infrastructure, education, healthcare and other spheres, Naveen added.

Apart from Naveen, several leaders of the party also took a dig at the BJP and accused the Centre for its step motherly treatment towards Odisha.

“Be it the Polavaram, Mahanadi or the issue of awarding Bharat Ratna to Biju Babu, Odisha is being neglected by the BJP government,” said BJD MP AU Singhdeo.
