Koraput: A delegation of minority community on Thursday met Jeypore Sub-collector over the objectionable slogans raised allegedly by the activists of Bajrang Dal activists at Borigumma in Koraput district on June 11.

Apprehending breach of ‘communal harmony’, the delegation took up the matter with the Sub-collector demanding appropriate measures in connection with the incident.

In a memorandum submitted, the delegation has sought intervention of the police and district administration to ensure that the peace and tranquillity of the region is protected.

According to reports, an organisational training camp of Bajrang Dal was organised at Borigumma from June 5 to June 12 and a rally was organised on the concluding day.

It is alleged that the activists of the saffron outfit had made some derogatory remarks against some people of the minority community in the area.

Though, senior leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) refuted such allegations, they have also sought apology if somebody had made such remarks during the rally.
