Bhubaneswar: Trains from Odisha to Punjab, Haryana and other northern states will terminate at Delhi following the large scale violence triggered by Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction in a rape case.

Owing to severe law and order situation, railway operations in Haryana and Punjab have been suspended as a precautionary measure by Northern Railways.

All trains emanating from Odisha will also not be allowed to move beyond New Delhi, sources informed.

The trains particularly to Jammu, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ambala, Panipat, Bhatinda, Jakhal, Rohatak from Odisha will be terminated at Delhi, sources said.

On the other hand, Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express via Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur scheduled to depart at 23:50 hrs today (August 25, 2017) has been cancelled.
