Deogarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the kin of each of the deceased in the deadly bus mishap last evening which killed 27 persons. Moreover, the injured will be given free treatment, the CM directed.

Earlier, the Chief Minister expressed sadness over the bus accident and directed officials to speed up the rescue operations. Similarly, Odisha Congress chief Prasad Harichandan and BJP president Basant Panda have also expressed their grief over the tragedy.

Notably, 27 persons died and 11 were seriously injured when a bus carrying an Opera crew fell into a 300-ft gorge off the Gailo ghat in Deogarh district on Sunday evening.
