Cuttack: Dengue scare has gripped the city as the death toll at the SCB Medical College and Hospital rose to four today after a woman succumbed to the disease while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The deceased, identified as Gauri Rani De (73) of Balasore, had been undergoing treatment at the SCB hospital since September 17.

The first dengue death of the season was reported on August 9 when 35-year-old Som Prakash Mishra of Bihar died while undergoing treatment at SCB.

Later on August 11, Harihar Mallick of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district died during the course of treatment while on August 26, Sanatan Nayak of Tangarapada village in Keonjhar succumbed to dengue at the hospital.
