Demolition of Timan Kumbhar’s house underway

Balangir: Having resumed the demolition of the illegally constructed houses of Timan Kumbhar, a dreaded criminal, yesterday, the district administration began the demolition of his newly constructed three-storey building at Larkipalli area of the town this morning.

Talking to media persons, Narayan Nayak, SDPO, Balangir said the demolition of the new building of Kumbhar by the Municipal administration is underway.

“Kumbhar has constructed two three-storey buildings on government land of which one was partly demolished manually as the machines required for the purpose were not available. But the Muncipality has started the demolition of the building with a help of a hired machine this morning. The demolition of the building will be completed today while the remaining houses and buildings will be demolished in a couple of days,” he added.

To maintain law and order, three platoons of armed police force were deployed at the spot where Muncipal officials, senior police officers and the local magistrate were present.
