Demolition drive at Bana Baba ashram ends

Konark (Puri): The Forest Department said a section office and a black buck reproduction centre will be set up at Bana Baba Ashram eviction drive in Balidokan under Konark police station where the district administration on Wednesday demolished all the buildings constructed illegally by the self-styled godman.

The three-day long eviction drive was completed today and the Forest Department started constructing a boundary wall around the 20-acre land.

According to reports, the main building of the Ashram was demolished fully in the presence of the district administration and forest officers today. Around two platoons of police force were deployed to maintain law and order situation.

Meanwhile, the Baba has opened his mouth over the discovery of a human skeleton from behind the Ashram. He said Baba Anam Das of Odashamala had been buried there after his death.

It may be noted that the human skeleton had been found wrapped in a blanket on the backyard of the Ashram on Tuesday.

However, no complaint has been lodged in the police station yet.

On the hand, the matter has fuelled suspicion over the activities of the Baba.
