Balasore: For learning & education there is no age bar. Fifty eight-year-old Arun Bej, who is a BJP leader in Balasore district, has emerged as an example for many.

Arun, who hails from Jaleswar area and his son, Biswajit had both appeared for Matriculation examination 2018, and surprisingly, both have cleared the high school certificate examination with identical marks - 342 out of 500.

Sources said both were studying in Chaitanya Dev High School at Dagapunji that allows school dropouts of any age to appear for high school certificate examination.

Arun, the district vice-president of BJP had contested in the 2014 Assembly elections from Jaleswar constituency.  According to sources, he could not pass the Matriculation examination due to some issues. Similarly, his son Biswajit also could not clear the test. Hence, both Arun and his son decided to appear for the test together, informed sources.

"This is the happiest moment of my life. I was not so happy when I had got the MLA ticket," said a jubilant Arun.

"I am surprised that we secured equal marks in the exam. I was happy when we were appearing for the test. But, I had never imagined that we will secure equal marks," Arun's son Biswajit said.
