Puri: After no unanimity was reached on the visit of Puri Shankaracharya’s aides and family members of servitors to the Snana mandap during the Chhatisa Nijog meeting yesterday, the managing committee of the Sri Jagannath temple is likely to discuss the matter today.

Besides, the temple managing committee will talk on the Deba Snana Purnima ritual timings and process approved by the Chhatisa Nijog on Monday.

The nijog meeting also decided not to allow devotees to touch the deities on the Snana mandap during the Snana Purnima ritual.

Baladeb Singhari, member of the Srimandir managing committee, said, “Keeping in view that the Puri seer has been allowed to climb the chariots and Snana mandap since 1992, it would be wrong to tell him not to follow the same practice now.”
