Death of a child in hospital sparks tension

Banki: Tension prevailed on the premises of the Banki hospital today following the death of a child allegedly due to medical negligence.

Family members of the deceased, identified as Om Shankar Barik, stated doctors on duty did not attend the boy even after his condition deteriorated.

Mother of the child stated, "Though we tried to call doctors sleeping in a room in the hospital after my child's condition worsened, no one came to our help."

"They also never asked us to take the child to some other hospital," she added.

Barik, son of Munindra Barik of Ramchandrapur village near Banki, was admitted to the hospital for asthma complications.
