Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) authorities have suspended cleaning supervisor of Konark Express after Orissa High Court judge Biswanath Rath disembarked the train over foul smell of a dead rodent inside his compartment on November 3.
A disciplinary action against the supervisor has been initiated with serving of a chargesheet by the authorities of Khurda Road division.

Earlier, the Orissa High Court judge had got down from the train at Berhampur station after facing severe inconvenience due to the pungent smell inside the A1 coach.
In his complaint, Rath had also pointed out towards gross negligence in maintenance of sanitation inside the train as garbage was littered at few places including near windows.
Meanwhile, the chief mechanical engineer of East Coast Railway also inspected the coaching depot at Bhubaneswar.

Apart from Konark Express, the authorities have decided to focus on overall sanitation and other basic amenities in other trains including Rajdhani and Prashanti Express.
