Daughter, lover held for RSP employee’s wife murder

Rourkela: After nearly three months of the death of a RSP employee's wife at Sector-7 area of Rourkela, the Steel City police on Tuesday arrested the daughter of the deceased and her lover.

Notably, RSP employee Aganu Nayak's wife was found dead in her house on December 2 last year. However, Riya, daughter of the deceased, claimed that her mother had committed suicide. But the police did not find sufficient evidence of suicide.

In course of investigation, police came to know that Riya with the help of Aryan, a local youth and her lover, had strangulated her mother.

Police claimed the woman had been opposing her daughter's love affair with and so both planned to eliminate her.

“The girl, during interrogation confessed that she murdered her mother as she was opposed to her affairs with her lover. Besides, she also said her mother had also reprimanded her for not seriously pursuing her studies and career,” IIC of Sector-7 Police Station SN Das told media persons.
