Nabarangpur: Dabugaon Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) Subash Chandra Raiguru has been suspended from duties for allegedly razing the full grown maize crop field of a farmer.

OTV had first reported the incident from Gatiguda village under Umerkote police station on August 4 when the then IIC of Dabugaon, Raiguru along with some other officials bulldozed a maize field of farmer Pintu Bisoi by using his government vehicle.

Sources said the incident was fallout of past enmity between the IIC and Bisoi. Since the maize field of Bisoi blocked the nearby plot that belonged to Raiguru’s father-in-law, the IIC had earlier threatened him to remove the barricade on the encroached land.

But when Bisoi did not pay heed, the IIC arrived at the spot with some staff in a police vehicle and reportedly ran over the crop. Maize crop cultivated on around 30-40 decimal land was completely destroyed during the unscrupulous incident.

Even though the whole episode was caught in a mobile camera, the IIC had denied the allegation.

After the video footage of the whole incident came to limelight, Umerkote SDPO had directed for a probe following which the IIC was suspended today.
