Cuttack: Commissionerate Police produceed arrested criminal siblings Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant along with their seven associates before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here on Friday.

According to sources, the two gangsters were produced before the court in connection with the businessman Farooq murder case and eight new cases lodged against them at various police stations in the city, which include extortion, making of fake pan cards and debit cards and fake currency transactions.

Later, they were sent back to jails as police did not pray the court to take the duo on fresh remand.

As many as 19 cases have been filed so far against the D-brothers out of which the duo has been produced before the court for their involvement in 11 cases. Recently, eight news cases were lodged against the criminal brothers at three police stations in the city, the sources added.

While three cases were registered against the duo at Markat Nagar police station, two each were registered at Chauliaganj and Cantonment police station and one at Badambadi police station.

At present, Sushil is lodged at Balasore jail whereas Sushant Dhalasamant is kept at Jharapada jail.

On Thursday, the district administration cancelled the license of four sand mines which were in the name of D-brothers’ father Saroj Dhalasamant, and their three associates.

While two sand mines are located in Barang, one is located in Cuttack Sadar and the other one is located in Damapada area in Banki.
