Cuttack: One of the closest aides and sharp shooter of arrested gangster brothers Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant, Arif Khan was today presented before the SDJM court after his six-day remand ended.

The court sent him back to jail again as police did not seek an extension of remand. The police are likely to move court later seeking fresh remand of the arrested shooter.

The police had asked the court for a seven-day remand, but the court limited it to days six on Tuesday.

A key accused in the murder of Omm and Dipu, Arif was taken to Khuntakata farmhouse in Athagarh for questioning about the murder.

Commissionerate Police had, in its remand petition, said that since Arif would be able to give a lot of information about the case as well as about the Dhalsamant brothers, he should be sent on police remand for seven days.

Dipu and Om were killed in November, 2013 and their bodies disposed of in Jharkhand. Similarly, pulses trader Farooq was shot down in his Malgodown office way back in 2004. Arif was also accused in the case.
