Cyclist dies in head-on collision with bike; locals block NH

Dhenkanal: A cyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a motorcycle in Muktapasi village under Kamakhyanagar police limits of Dhenkanal district on Monday.

According to sources, the deceased Baruna Dehuri succumbed to injuries on the spot following the accident.

Soon, locals rescued motorcyclist Manas Behera who was also injured and rushed him to Muktapasi Hospital in a critical condition.

However, finding the hospital locked, irate locals blocked NH-53 in protest. Vehicular communication was disrupted for a while due to the road blockade.

The irate mob later called off the stir after concerned officials reached the spot and assured them to sort out the issue, sources added.
