2013 Cuttack bomb hurling: Chargesheet filed against Mahima Mishra

Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police today filed chargesheet in a court against industrialist Mahima Mishra and aide Ganesh Sahu in the Press Chhak bomb hurling case which occurred in 2013.

The chargesheet mentioned that on basis of Ganesh Sahu’s statements recorded during the probe after his arrest, the involvement of Mahima Mishra in the case came to fore.

Under Sec 120B of IPC for criminal conspiracy, Sec 9B of the Explosives Act and Sec 307 for attempt to murder and Sec 34 IPC, the chargesheet has been filed in the court.

The Press Chhak bomb hurling incident was an outcome of a land dispute between Mahima and Abhaya Bhatt, the chargesheet noted. Sources said Mahima had allegedly ordered the bombing after Abhay purchased a land worth Rs 72 lakh which the former could not lay his hands on.

The industrialist is currently lodged in jail in connection with Seaways general manager Mahendra Swain murder case.
