Cuttack BEO caught taking bribe

Cuttack: Cuttack Sadar Block Education Officer (BEO) Paramananda Mishra was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting bribe on his retirement day today.

Mishra was caught by the Vigilance sleuths while taking Rs 5,000 bribe from a teacher for updating a service book this morning. Officials of the Cuttack Vigilance Division raided the house of Mishra at Rajendra Nagar and seized the bribe money.

The officials later took the BEO to the Vigilance office for interrogation.
