Bhadrak: Residents in the town heaved a sigh of relief after regular curfew imposed by the Bhadrak district administration to restore normalcy following the unrest was lifted permanently on Friday evening.

Informing about the decision, Bhadrak Collector Nihar Ranjan Das said in view of zero cases of disturbance in any parts of the town, the curfew has been lifted completely.

Nihar Das, who is journalist by profession, said, “As the curfew has been lifted, inhabitants especially businessmen are quite happy.”

Pramod Naik, a train passenger, who arrived in the town Friday evening, said, “The situation seems to be normal.”

Another train passenger Rukmani Das said, “Though I was apprehensive on how to reach the destination, finding normalcy here came as a breather.”

After the eruption of unrest in Bhadrak town in the beginning of April due to some comments on social networking sites, the district administration imposed the curfew at regular intervals for 35 days.
