Bhubaneswar: After hours of struggle, forest officials were successful in capturing a baby crocodile that sneaked into a pond at Mendhasal village on the outskirts of the city here on Saturday.

As per reports, two days ago, a few persons of the village spotted the reptile in a fish pond belonging to one Harinaryan Mishra  of the village. Mishra reported the matter to the police.

As no step was taken, the villagers reported the matter to the forest officials following which a team from Khurda Forest Division  reached the spot and captured it.

Locals suspect the reptile might have sneaked in from a nearby lake in Deras area of Bhubaneswar in search of food as the pond is used for fish farming.
