Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch arrested builder, Premanand Mahapatra today for allegedly duping more than Rs 4.5 crore from several persons on the pretext of providing apartments in Tamando area of Bhubaneswar.

The accused, who is the CEO of Golden View Infrastructure Limited, was brought for a medical inspection today.

According to sources, Mahapatra took money from many people by showing them plots that belonged to others. However, he never allotted the plots and when people demanded their money back, Mahapatra started threatening them.

Sources informed that EOW is currently investigating to find out the role of others associated with Mahapatra.
