Cricket betting: Police arrests five, seizes Rs7L

Berhampur: Police today busted a cricket betting racket and arrested five persons in this connection at Marthapeta under Bada Bazaar police limits in Berhampur.

The Bada Bazaar and Town police conducted a joint raid at Marthapeta last night while betting was being carried out during India-Bangladesh match and arrested five persons, including the prime accused Suresh. The cops also seized Rs 7,01150 lakh cash and 10 mobile phones from their possession.

Earlier, police had seized Rs 8 lakh after a raid on May 11.
