Bhubaneswar: The Khurda ADJ-2 court is likely to pronounce its verdict on a bail application filed by SUM Hospital owner Manoj Nayak today, who is currently lodged at the Jharpada jail here in connection with the SUM Hospital Fire Mishap case.

The court yesterday reserved its order on Nayak’s bail application after hearing arguments from both the sides for two hours.

While the government pleader opposed Nayak’s bail application on basis of the case diary submitted to the court, the SUM Hospital owner’s counsel argued in favour of the bail blaming the Fire Services department for its delayed response and not ensuring fire safety measures are the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police served notices to two trustees of the Sikshya O Anusandhan Charitable Trust, Nayak’s wife Saswati Das and sister Arati Nayak, asking them to appear before it within seven days.
