Cops to get lessons in cyber crime today

Cuttack: In an attempt curb the rising cyber crimes in the state, a special training programme for police officials will be held at the headquarters of State Crime Branch here today.

According to sources, the police officials will be given training on hacking, crimes related to social media, online fraud, fraud through phone calls.

Besides, training will be given on registration of cyber crimes and the section to be invoked for a particular cyber crime, the sources added.

Senior officials of Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Kolkata and cyber experts of the state will attend the meeting which will be chaired by Special DG (Crime) B K Sharma.

Two police officials from each district will participate in the training programme.
