Bargarh: The General Secretary of Havildar-Constable Sangha of Bargarh district, Subash Chandra Mishra, was arrested today on charges of misbehaving with a woman. The arrest was made after the victim lodged a complaint regarding the matter at Paikmal police station.

According to police, the woman hailing from Khaprakhol of Bolangir district had visited Baisakhi Mela at Nrusinghanath Peeth where she was misbehaved by a biker, who was later identified as police constable.

However, Mishra alleged that it is a conspiracy of Bolangir SP Ashish Singh, who is currently in additional charge of Bargarh district.

"SP Ashish Singh started torturing me since he assumed charge of Bargarh district. As per a standing order, duty should not be allotted to us, but our president, secretary, vice-president and other two members were sent to Baisakhi Mela for a week. This is a conspiracy. I had even written to the SP in this regard, but it was rejected."

Inspector-In-Charge of Paikmal police station said, “The victim had mentioned the vehicle number in her FIR, based on which we detained a person identified as Subash Mishra. Further action will be taken after investigation".
