Bhubaneswar: Cooperation Minister SN Patro today directed the Cooperative Registrar to deduct salary of employees, who are involved in misappropriation of funds, if they fail to pay the money in seven days.

"In case employees of cooperatives involved in the financial irregularities do not return the money, the registrar can attach their properties and get the money back from the proceeds," Patra added.

Notices have been sent to the employees involved in the irregularities, he stated.

As per the audit report, as many as 1,267 persons have embezzled Rs 210 crore in cooperative banks and societies.
