Cuttack: The State government has announced a special incentive for the police constables and sepoys engaged in anti-naxal operation in the Maoist-hit areas. Those who are recruited under contract system will get the benefit.

State Police Headquarters informed that constables and sepoys working with Special Operation group (SOG) will get a 60 per cent special incentive of their original pay. Similarly, the personnel working with Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) will now be entitled to receive 15 per cent of their original pay.

Constables and sepoys working in Maoist-dominated areas will also get 15 per cent of their original salary as incentive.

Earlier, constables and sepoys recruited under Odisha Group C and D Contractual Recruitment Rules, 2013 were not eligible for special pay despite being engaged in the Naxal-hit districts of the State.
