Bhubaneswar: BJD's Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda in a tweet today clarified that he is the target of a well-planned conspiracy which has been going on since the past three years to malign his image and create doubts against him in the mind of party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The response of the parliamentarian came after a twitter follower of Panda sought a clarification on an article published in a regional news portal accusing an MP from a coastal district of spreading rumours about deteriorating health condition of the Chief Minister a few years ago.
In response, Panda, however, termed the allegations as utter nonsense.
It's utter nonsense, part of a well planned campaign to malign me and create doubts in the mind of my leader. This conspiracy has been going on for three years. https://t.co/3E4Un3bRVy

Another article in national English-language daily Hindustan Times stated that Panda accused the CM's private secretary of “interfering in party affairs and unconstitutionally indulging in politics”.
In response, Panda asked Hindustan Times to be fair in its reporting and mention the reason behind the accusation. Panda informed about the threats he had received from some party members who enjoy the patronage of the aforesaid officer.
To be fair, you shd mention that i didn't suddenly speak up for no reason: For 3 days before that, certain party ppl known to enjoy the officer's patronage/protection had publicly threatened violence if i went ahead with the inauguration of an MPLAD-funded drinking water project! https://t.co/UwRjMDPAt7
