Bhubaneswar: The conjoined twins of Milipada village under Phiringia block of Kandhamal district today left for New Delhi AIIMS along with family members in Rajadhani Express for further treatment.

The twins, Honey and Singh, were also accompanied by Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram assistant manager Soumya Samantray to AIIMS, New Delhi where the conjoined babies will be operated by a 16-member team of doctors.

The parents and conjoined babies were brought to Bhubaneswar from their village yesterday.

It may be mentioned that the State’s Health department swung into action after the OdishaTV (OTV) telecast on the suffering of the conjoined twins and parents.

The Kandhamal district administration has provided a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh and the District Patient Welfare Committee has given Rs 25,000 to the parents of the conjoined twins.
