Bhubaneswar: A day after chief minister Naveen Patnaik visited Jagannath Temple in Puri and reviewed the repair work of Jagmohan, the chamber facing the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, Congress leader Narasingha MIshra along with Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan and Tara Prasad Bahinipati visited the 12th century shrine on Thursday to take stock of the repair work.

According to reports, the Leaders the of Congress visited the temple at 10.45 am and hold discussions with various concerned officials regarding the repair work of Jagmohan at Puri circuit house here at 11.45 am.

A team lead by Union Culture secretary and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Director General (DG) is scheduled to visit the temple to review the repair work of the Jagmohan on May 20.

During the visit, the members of the central team will meet Gajapati Dibya Singhadeb, members of the core committee, NIT and IIT technical team and will discuss the repair plans.

Later, the team will hold discussions with chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and will chalk out a plan for the long term repair of Jagmohan.

Notably, the chief minister had visited Jagannath temple and reviewed the repair work yesterday.

After taking stock of the repair work, the chief minister had said “My government will take all necessary steps towards the repair of Jagmohan,”
