Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: In a bid to strengthen its organisation in Odisha, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Sonia Gandhi today constituted a three-member team of observers to assess the political situation in the State.

Senior leaders Tamrdhwaj Sahu, Sushmita Dev and Jitendra Singh are part of the team and have been asked to submit a joint report to the Congress chief after their visit to the State.

A media release issued by the party said, “The team will jointly work with the AICC general secretary and secretary in-charge of Odisha to assess the political situation.”

Earlier in the day, OPCC chief Prasad Harichandan, Srikant Jena, Ramchandra Khuntia, Kanhu Charan Lenka and other senior leaders called upon Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and discussed on party organisation in the State.
