Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress today demanded arrest of BJP leader Sashi Sahoo for his alleged involvement in land fraud, chit fund scam and human sacrifice.

The Congress activists, who carried out a bike rally from Congress Bhawan at Master Canteen in the Capital city to the DCP office here, protested in front of the DCP office and also tried to enter the office resulting in a scuffle with the police.

“We will approach the Governor with the issue and if no action is taken even after that by the Odisha government and the DCP, Congress will stage a state-wide protest,” said party leader Jaydev Jena.

Later, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan visited the DCP office and demanded immediate action against Sahoo.

Meanwhile, the BJP leader has termed the allegations made by the Congress as "baseless and false". "The allegations are borne out of mere political vendetta," said Sahoo.

It is worth mentioning that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier quizzed Sahoo, the BJP’s MLA candidate from Simulia assembly seat in Balasore district in the last assembly election, in connection with suspicious financial deals with a company owned by BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma’s brother-in-law.
