Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Congress and BJP activists from Kendrapara district joined BJD in presence of party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar today.

The supporters came in a rally to CM's residence -Naveen Niwas and joined BJD at the ‘Mishran Samavesh’ organised for the purpose.

Naveen said that the new joinees from Congress and BJP from Kendrapara will strengthen the party.

“I believe the joining of these supporters will strengthen the party organisation in the district,” Naveen said after the event.

Former Councillor of Kendrapara, Rashmi Ranjan Das who joined BJD today said he was inspired by the leadership and dedication of the Chief Minister and decided to join the ruling-party.

On the other hand, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Prasad Harichandan, commenting on the recent exits from his party, said that it will have no impact on the party.

“Those who are leaving the party for personal gains will get a befitting reply from people. Congress was strong and it will continue to stay strong in future,” Harichandan said.
