Commissionerate police nabs robbers’ gang

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the festive season, Commissionerate police has busted a major robbers’ gang involved in several incidents of loot.

Eight snatchers including two juveniles have been arrested and 1 pistol, four motorcycles and Rs 60,000 have been seized from their possession.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Satyabrat Bhoi informed that the gang mostly used to loot cash from people on National Highway and those returning after withdrawing cash from banks.

“Acting on a tip off, we have arrested 8 robbers and snatchers and we have recovered a firearm. We are trying to bust the entire gang which used to operate in Bhubaneswar, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and more than 20 cases are pending against them,” said Bhoi.

Bhoi informed that the juveniles were also assisting other gang members in snatching cash and other valuables.
