College security guard dies mysteriously in Rourkela

Rourkela: Close on the heels of death of a woman lecturer of Padmanava engineering college in Rourkela, a security guard died under mysterious circumstances on the premises of the educational institute on Friday.

The security guard, identified as Ramesh Gauda, was rescued in an unconscious state by some staff on the premises of the engineering college. Though the guard was being rushed to a hospital, he died midway.

According to sources, the security guard was the first person and key witness in spotting the body of a woman lecturer, who had allegedly committed suicide by hanging self in a room on the college campus on January 27.

The deceased identified as Jharana was working in IT and Telecommunication department of the college. A hand written note suspected to be the suicide note of the lecturer was also recovered by police.

Police have seized the body of the security guard and launched a probe into the incident as it is suspected that both the incidents could be linked.
