Bhubaneswar: Setting a trend for ensuring speedy justice, Odisha Government responded to ‘SOS’ by a person on social media which resulted in the rescue of five minor children while they were allegedly being trafficked on a bus.

All the five minor children hail from Ganjam and were being escorted by three agents on a bus when they were rescued by a police team near Phulbani. It is suspected that the children would have been engaged as child labourers.

According to reports, one Amit Nanda had sent a tweet seeking intervention from Odisha police and Chief Minister Office after spotting the kids sleeping on the floor of the bus yesterday.

The Chief Minister’s office also responded to the tweet and directed senior officials of Odisha police to initiate steps for rescuing the minors.

“Appreciate swift action of State police to rescue 4 minors from bus. Sincere thanks to Good Samaritan @amitnanda11 for his prudence & help,” wrote Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a tweet.
