Bhubaneswar: With unveiling the logo and mascot for the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today formally announced commencement of the mega sports event, to be held at Kalinga Stadium here from July 6 to 9.

The endangered Olive Ridley turtle was declared the mascot of the Championship at a special function on the premises of Kalinga Stadium.
Legendary Olympians PT Usha and Anju Bobby George were also felicitated by Patnaik during the programme.

It is worthwhile to mention that more than 600 athletes of 45 countries will be participating in the Championship.
