Sambalpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today unveiled a slew of projects and laid foundation stones of others during his 1-day visit to the district. While inaugurating several projects at the PHD ground in Ainthapalli, Naveen also dedicated the new bus terminal to the public.

Moreover, the chief minister also flagged off the Pilgrimage Train at Khetrajpur Station for the senior citizens.

“I am delighted to be in Sambalpur district today for a number of welfare schemes and development programs for the local people,” said Naveen.

Following his Sambalpur visit, Naveen visited Kuchinda and also unveiled several developmental programs.

Around 90 activists of the Congress and the BJP were detained by the Sambalpur police ahead of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit the district today.

Earlier in the day, the BJP activists demonstrated at the Ainthapalli venue by waving black flags and throwing eggs on road, while former BJP MLA Jay Narayan Mishra sat on a dharna in front of the sub-collector’s office protesting the visit of the chief minister to Kuchinda. He was later detained by the police.
