Bhubaneswar: Allaying concerns over his ill health, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who suddenly fell sick during his Independence Day address at Bhubaneswar today, assured that he recovered soon and said his health is fine and perfectly alright.

After doctors at the Capital Hospital assessed his health condition being perfectly alright, he attended the police medal giving ceremony at Jaydev Bhawan and later celebrated the day with school children at Naveen Niwas by distributing sweets.

With recovery prayers coming from all across the State and country, Patnaik thanked everyone in his tweets mentioning that he felt a little dehydrated. He also advised the children to take plenty of water before going out in sun.

Earlier today, the Chief Minister reportedly fumbled several times during his speech after unfurling the Tricolour at the state-level Independence Day ceremony in the Capital city. He was seen sweating profusely, following which he had to leave the podium midway. Despite the illness, he received salute at the parade in which as many as 54 troupes had participated.

His PRO Sukanta Panda said, “He felt slightly uncomfortable due to high humidity level. Doctors examined him and found no serious health issues. He is now completely fit and fine.”
