Bolangir: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a slew of projects and laid foundation stone of the upcoming projects in Bolangir district.

District Collector Asish Thakre welcomed the chief minister after he arrived at the helipad in Loisingha college premises on his one-day visit to the district.

After receiving the Guard of Honour, the chief minister inaugurated 21 projects built at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Addressing a public meeting, he spoke about several people-oriented programmes taken up by his government.

Local MLA and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Public Grievances and Pension Administration minister Jogendra Behera, Rajya Sabha member AU Singhdeo, chairperson of Mahila Vikash Nigam Srimayee Mishra were present.

Tension prevailed at the meeting venue after some BJP workers showed black flags to the chief minister.

Police later arrested three BJP workers.

Patnaik later visited Guranda under Kantabanjhi Assembly constituency from where he visited Fapsi village under Titlagarh Assembly constituency where he inaugurated 18 projects and laid foundation of upcoming projects in the area.

Addressing a public meeting, Patnaik expressed his happiness over his visit to Titlagarh.

Present on the occasion, Titlagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu promised to make the constituency a developed area in the state.

In view of the visit of the chief minister to the district, three-tier security arrangements were made under personal supervision of the Northern Range DIG and the district SP.
